A systems engineering practice that treats infrastructure with the discipline it deserves.
KLO Bookkeeping, LLC established KLO Bookkeeping with a clear observation: organizations across every sector were spending enormous sums on technology infrastructure that had been assembled rather than designed. Servers purchased on vendor recommendation without capacity modeling. Networks configured ad-hoc without threat modeling. Security controls bolted on after incidents — reactive, incomplete, and expensive. Documentation that existed only in the memory of a few key individuals — and vanished when they departed.
We reject that approach entirely. Every system we engineer begins with documented requirements that are reviewed with stakeholders. The architecture goes through formal peer review before a single component is procured. Configurations are validated in controlled staging environments before reaching production. The final system is accompanied by formal documentation that any competent professional can use to operate it independently — because a system that holds its owner hostage to the original vendor is, by our definition, a design failure.
Our office at 331 W Parrish Ln Ste 106-303 in Centerville, Utah serves clients across manufacturing, logistics, professional services, healthcare, and technology sectors nationwide. We do not sell hardware. We do not resell software. What we deliver is engineering judgment, documented design decisions, and systems that perform exactly as specified.
Mission: To engineer computer systems that organizations can depend on absolutely — architected with discipline, implemented with precision, and operated with confidence. We exist because the gap between what technology can deliver and what most organizations experience is unacceptably wide — and that gap is almost always an engineering problem.
Vision: A technology industry where systems design is recognized and practiced as a first-class engineering discipline — governed by standards, driven by methodology, and measured by results rather than billable hours.
Every architectural decision is accompanied by documented rationale. Configurations are validated in staging before production. We do not guess, and we do not ship anything we cannot defend in a formal technical review.
Project status is communicated truthfully — including risks, setbacks, and unknowns. Clients deserve accurate information to make sound decisions, not optimistic narratives.
We build systems clients can own and operate independently. Knowledge transfer is a formal deliverable with its own milestones and acceptance criteria. A system that requires the vendor for every change is a design failure.
Security requirements are addressed in the architecture phase — not retrofitted after an incident exposes vulnerabilities. Threat models inform design from day one. Controls are tested through adversary emulation.
Post-engagement retrospectives are mandatory for every project. We systematically study what worked, what surprised us, and what we would do differently. Every engagement makes the next one sharper.
